Outsiders At A Floor Dinner Are As A Lethal Combination as Pop Rocks and Sofas -Dorm Life 223

For those who haven't seen it, here it is
Dorm Life Episode 223 - Floor Dinner

For those who have seen it, the recap for Floor Dinner
The episode starts with a blurred face person digging through Mike's clothes. We and I are led to think it's Josh but apparently it's Linda who Josh has paid to go to the floor dinner for him. Linda didn't sign a waiver so we don't get to see her face but it sounds like a him.
We find Josh iving underneath the Lincoln Bridge with a homeless man named Hampton who is not as crazy as Lacey but still pretty crazy. We find out this is another performance piece he is doing. But, frankly, I have enjoyed Josh with Hampton more than what I have enjoyed all this semester. He seemed to truly bond with Hampton and his "imagination".
Meanwhile in the triple, Danny is coming up with a pros and cons list for Lacey. Pros-She's cute, she's been to Fort Sumpter (very important for a Civil War buff), and she's resilient. Cons: She's crazy and clingy (what he said in the preview) which Gopher admits to it being a lethal combo which Shane responds that she's like "Pop rocks and sofas" (Gotta love Shane). The triple decide to discuss at the floor dinner but unfortunately Lacey has invited herself to the dinner.
The festivities start with a table in the middle of the hallway. Okay, I will be honest. At my university, "floor dinners" usually mean going to a dining hall, not getting a folding card tables with likewise chairs and picining it out of your rooms. But to each its own, Dean Tomlinison comes up and notices the floor dinner. Marshall starts his usual sucking up to Dean and Dean buys hook line and sinker and talks about adding some bonus points to him. Then Marshall talks smack about Yassi which clearly he made up and yet Dean buys it. How Dean got his position, no one knows.
Anyway, the floor starts an awesome game of cups (which is an awesome game to play by the way, just wanted to say that). However, Marshall decides to ruin the floor by just throwing the cups at people. Steph finally says, "God, Marshall, you are such a prick!" and I started to stand up and clap. It was a great Steph moment and what made it better was people throwing cups at him after that. Classic.
Besides Lacey and Linda, Elijah who will from here on out be on SOJ (Son of Jeffer) was also at the floor dinner. SOJ was griling about the dinner portion of the floor dinner asking about its was going to fowl or game hen. Steph again said to him that Abby doesn't respond well to force but yes there will be chicken. Steph has came back for me. Love her again!
We finally see Gopher interrogating SOJ and we finally find out why he is here. Abby's dowry-a horse-is about ready to die and if SOJ and Abby get married without the horse, they would bring shame to their families. Kinda sounds like the Amish Godfather, but I digress. So SOJ wants the horse and Abby but mainly the horse so badly that he is going to rush Abby into the wedding. Do I sense a road trip to stop the wedding by killing the horse coming soon? Stay tuned! (This won't happen, but something has got to stop the unholy union of Abby and SOJ and not preven Gopher from experincing true happiness. Sorry, got into Notebook mode there.)
We find out that the floor dinner was Steph's idea (since it's not an official floor event according to Marshall but technically it is was the hazing of Andy sitting on the floor wrapped in the blanket) and Britt congrats Steph. Unfortunately Steph decides to talk about the outsiders at the dinner with directed to Lacey. Lacey just brushes it off and tells Danny B. that Steph is just a "bitch" (Psycho burn!) Lacey then talks about the sacrifaces that Danny has done for her like sleep on the floor while she sleeps on his bed. (Okay, Psycho, this has gone too far.) Then Lacey says that Danny is going to take her to the Beanie Babies Collectors Convention (man, flashback to my childhood. Does anyone else still have their Beanies Babies? I do.) However, Danny B has a quiz bowl that same day.
Okay, major digression. Quiz bowl was a major part of my life from middle school on up to some of college. History bowl and academic bowl made me the person that I am. In fact, in seventh grade, I decided that my first email address would be historybowler@whatever.com (PS not a real email address.). Thus historybowler stuck and it's my user name on both youtube and twitter. History bowl and academic bowl were and are so much fun. Being a fan of history and knowledge, I adored it.
Jump right back into dorm life. Danny B has had it. Lacey is not going to take him away from his quiz bowl being a lover of history and knowledge. Lacey pulls the old standby of if you love me, you will do it, except she's Lacey so she put into creepier terms. Danny B. said, "I don't want to be your boyfriend". Lacey can't believe it and also couldn't believe that they were breaking up in front of her friends. Danny said they are not your friends, get out of my floor dinner, which she did. Awkward tension broiled. Mike started doing something with his hands, which I thought would be the slow clap (I love a good slow clap, I will admit it) but instead he made an awkward situation more awkward by attempting to start a food fight. Danny B wasn't having it. End of episode
Thoughts
Great Episode! Defintely made up for my disappointments with the last two and a little bit more. Loved the fact that the outsiders represented the big storylines of the last half of the semester (Josh, Abby, Danny B). Loved the great quotes. It was defintely a good episode. I think it's the second best of the season behind Frat Party with the reason being that some of Josh's webcams are unnecessary. They take away from the floor and although I am starting to like him again, I really love the floor. I understood why they did the first one which was to establish where he was and what he was doing but they just felt like the relays from "Spooky Adventure". Loved the fact that Mike showed Britt the trick with banana. It was directed at Britt, no one else. Are we going see the Danny B/Court relationship we have been waiting for? I hope so.
