Anticlimatic? "Dramatic Cue Music"-Dorm Life Episode 222

All right 5-South lovers welcome to the new episode "Spooky Adventure"- (I can't spell spooky right, so I am just going old school). We start out with what might be the greatest first one minute and twenty seconds ever in Dorm Life. We get Mike and Britt talking about the next greatest plan for floor fun- a adventure down into the creepy much rumored about tunels below the science building. The rumors were that there were pig-like people who lived down there. However, this got Mike and Britt into a debate about "dramtatic cue music" and ho it's "cliche" and "dumb, dumb, dumb" or whatever. It was great minute and twenty seconds but it had to end.

We are then in the triple with the triple plus Lacey and Court (playing Danny B.'s mini violin). Gopher is down because Abby is not going to the tunnels. Meanwhile Danny B. wants a night with his friends so they decide to ditch Lacey in the bathroom and go straight to the tunnels (which has been Danny B's best decision involving Lacey). This involves an entire floor roundup which includes scaredy-cat Marshall (nice character development by the way), injured Steph who is going to be the look-out for Mike ie the walkie for his talkie, still down-and-out Josh, and poor lovelorn Gopher who stops by and checks on Abby to make sure she doesn't want to go. However he is not so lovelorn as to get Danny B out of the Markers game (thanks for that contiunity). They finally escape old Glenn Close wannabe Lacey but not without leaving a note stating that Danny B. has the kind of pink eye that cures in a few hours.
In the tunnels, we get more Britt and Mike in action leading the group. When they hear a noise, Marsh jumps (totally out of character but welcome change). However Josh finally asks what everyone thought of the documentary. Everyone said good things except for Steph through walkie saying it was "heavy-handed". Josh then said it was "mediocre like Brigadoon". Josh immediately won me back with that reference to the classic musical. Heads up, if you are a true musical fan, avoid this like the plague. Anyway, they are exploring the tunnel while ignoring the Beware of Dogs sign. Josh badgers Danny B into commenting on his documentary and almost into smoking (Bad Josh!) Mike tries to help him but Josh doesn't want help. He just want an honest opinion from someone. The group then encounters what makes the tunnel so spooky-it is the fact that there is dead dogs.
In the dorm, we see the reason why Abby stayed behind. Her fiancee, Elijah Jefferson, son of Jeffer, has come to meet her. Instantly , we get the reason why she is not around the cameras is "to maintain her purity". However, son of Jeffer seems kind of perverted and controlling. He talks about how much buses cost and how tiny her wrists are which makes Abby uncomfortable. You can tell that the marriage between SOJ and Abby would be very awkward. Also, Lacey discovers the note and draws a picture of her and Danny B. kissing. (Poor Danny B.)
At the end of episode, the depressed cave group comes back to the dorm. Lacey is super excited to see Danny B. and says "He'll always come back." Finally, we see bread thrown at the group. It is Abby who in her culture in signifying the arrival of her bethrothed according to depressed and just freshly hit in a head with a piece of bread Gopher. It ends with an epic shot of the group, looking like the gang from "Lost" facing their endgame for the end of the series.
My Thoughts
I thought the first minutes were perfection. However, the cave trip wasn't that exciting or even full of adventure. It was just there. I also hated the three replays that the documentary crew added in (when Gopher marked Danny B.,when Marshall jumped, and Gopher getting hit in the head with the piece of bread). This isn't ESPN, this is Dorm Life, quit the replays unless aided by Marshall. It will be in the middle of this season's episodes for me. But, I have already heard from people that this might be one of the season's best episodes. Oh well.
