This past Friday might have been the saddest Friday in history as it was the day that the last (?) episode of Dorm Life aired. Moving Out was amazing
Here's my recap
-Mike is firmly friends with both Court and Brit and have to admit they all had some great but awkward moments in Court and Brit's room
-Marshall recommended Steph to be an ra and strongly urged to do it with his new-found respect for her. Steph said thank you but this doesn't change anything. Marsh says, I know. He's finally changed...
-Marshall then goes across the hall and shows Mike the list of his ra recommendations. Mike notices his name is not there. Marshall then says that this is a list for leaders and Mike is not a leader. Ah....Marshall is back
-Danny B. has his last encounter with Lacey (we hope) and she causes him to miss his final by mazing him in the eyes and kicking him in the groin.
-Shane then "tries to get (Danny B's) computer drunk" and goes to take the final, extremely worried about Danny B's absence.
-Gopher has decided to tell Abby that he is not interested in her anymore due to the fact that she is engaged. Gopher has written her a letter.
-Abby reads a letter and is extremely sad.
-Gopher and Abby go to the gazebo (sidebar: who else wishes they had a gazebo at their college? at mine, we have courtyards but no gazebos.) Abby is holding her letter in her hand while she lets Gopher talk. She then utters the most amazing phrase "My horse died" Abby's letter is from HOME!!!! Praise the Lord, you have lifted the plague known as SOJ off the rest of us. Then, Abby marks Gopher and says "I win." Gopher then says, "No, I win." Best moment of the last half of the season by far
-Shane puts Danny B's name on the final, thus ensuring that Shane will be flunking out of college.
-Josh reveals his masterwork-a floor collage called "5-South Floorever". It has many memorable things-my personal favorite being Courtney's Fanmail Schmanmail mirror-. It also included Mike's pledge shirt, Shane's "My Friend Sam is 50" shirt, one of Gopher's personalized shirts, Danny B's sweater vest, the XXX lei thing Britt and Court got when they pledged.
-Josh gets the last word but saying "It's a little cheesy, but it's our freshman year" revealing to us that to him the masterpiece was getting the floor together for one last photo. We then cut to the credits with one last Josh touch-the spaceship form "Return to Dormalcy" takes the documentary. End of season?
My Thoughts-Strong ending to very uneven season. I think Dormal is the better half of the season finale but this is also very strong. Dormal was full of big moments, Moving Out had a lot of smaller moments. It defintely made for a mostly satisfying ending. Gopher and Abby getting together was the cherry on top of the sundae. I apologize for not putting this up until now. I just couldn't bare to part with this show.
