The First Annual Dormies-Honoring the Best of "Dorm Life"

Since "Dorm Life" is the best web series I have seen (sorry Dr. Horrible and the Guild), I decided they should have their own awards show. All these awards are being awarded by one person-myself-so if you have any opinions, comment. Tell me why you feel this way. Let's get started with the only awards show for months,so sit back and scroll down to find out if your favorites won!!

Best Episode of Season 1
The winner is:

"Game Night"

I still watch this episode over and over and can quote from it religiously. "Do you like cake or ice cream...cake?" "Game night! Game night!!" "I have never swallowed...with my mouth" See what I mean? This was also the first real introduction to the winsome twosome, Britt and Court, and how their dynamic works. Mike's real first interactions with Gopher and Shane. Great moments abound in this episode.

Best Episode of Season 2
The winner is:

"The Frat Party"

Seriously, this episode is like "The Constant" for Dorm Life (great episode of Lost, for those you non-Losties out there. Still tear up at the end). The whole season has been building up to Mike's downward spiral and we finally get to see the little itsy bitsy light at the end of the tunnel which comes from the epic fight between 5-South and the frat boys. Danny B. kisses a girl (who turns out to be a stalker, but more on that later on). Britt and Steph get high with Phil and the repair guy. Court get to say "It's not that kind of story, Benji". Mike finally join the group again. Josh is a dj. Marshall gets drunk at Marie Calendar. "This is a good group". The last shot of the episode epitomizes everything I love about the show.

Best Episode Overall:

The Winner Is:
The Frat Party

Seriously? Nothing Else Needs to Be Said

Worst Episode Overall:

The Winner (or Loser) Is:

"Welcome Back"

My gosh, everybody's hopes were high for a good Season 2. From the get-go, with Shane doing the season 1 recap otherwise known as "Previously on Lost", it was good. Then, it went downhill after that. Basically what I rememeber from that episode was Marsh and Steph are still together and there was awkwardness between Mike and Britt still. Really?? I had waited over a year for that crap that we had already known from the season 1 finale? Come on! Luckily, "The Screening" got the show back on its feet but unfortunately foreshadowed the common theme of a couple of good episodes, then a really crappy episode, then a couple of good episodes that was the rollercoaster ride known as Season 2.

Best Character (out of the main cast):

The winner is:

Gopher Reed

Wow, I am going to come off biased. I do find Gopher adorable....what's the point of denying it? He's hot and he knows it. However, to tell you the truth, for the longest time, I did not find Gopher that great. Sure he's fun and funny, but really that was all he brought to the table. That was until, he found out about Danny B's crush with Mystery Hot Girl and his own infatuation with Abby. Gopher showed he was more than just your average party boy/class clown. He truly cares. Everybody rememebers his song to Abby that made everybody fall in love with him. Let's be honest, he's the heart of the show. Mike may be the main character but who is usually the first person he turns to? Senor Reed. He was one of the few characters that benefited from Season 2.

Worst Character (out of the main cast):

The Winner (or Loser) is:

Joshua Morgan

I loved Josh during Season 1. He was weird but funny, he referenced a lot of different pop culture (which is always refreshing), and you can always tell that he was going to be a good friend. But then Season 2 happened and he became a documentarian whose main purpose it seemed was to make Mike crack and break down. What a way to fall. Although he did learn the error of ways by the end, he couldn't redeem himself that much.

Most Underused Character (Out of the Main Cast):

The Winner Is:

Courtney Cloverlock

My gosh, I love this girl. She's the sterotypical blonde sorority girl but not ashamed to be funny, quirky, sexy, essentially herself. Unfortunately that meant her character was just good for either comic relief (which she was amazing at) or breaking up relationships (which she was also amazing at). Season 2 did focus more on the rest of the cast, specifically the girls, but it left her in the dust as the other three had relationship drama. A lot of episodes, she maybe had one line or didn't even show up (More egregious example: "Quiz Bowl" where you get a quick camera pan of her holding the message board containing the score thus being her only appearance of her in that episode). Let's hope that if there is a season 3, that she comes back with a vengeance!

Best Webcams:

The winner is:

"Fanmail Shmanmail"

Court's webcams are consistently funny, irrelevant, and so Court, it's amazing. If anyone says they love Court, they would usually cite these as the reasons why.

Runners-up:

First runner-up:

Marshall's one-on-ones with the floor

Marshall talking to everybody on the floor is usually all right. But Marshall doing it as a webcam series and not really listening to their answers=hilarity. Of course, one sticking point about webcams is Marshall talking about his embezzlement charges that was not brought up during the series. Shame, Dorm Life, shame

Second runner-up:

Gopher and Shane impersonating people they know

Gopher and Shane are a package deal in some respects. This being one of them. I wish they would do these more often but they got overshadowed.

Worst Webcam:

The loser is:

"The Mike Sanders Show"

These are boring, enough said. Shane couldn't even save these. SHANE!!! That is sad. I just got bored consistently.

Best Relationship:

The winner is:

Gopher and Abby!!

Of course I was going to include this relationship. Season 1, I seriously thought that Gopher was just using Abby to "get some". But, "Valentine's Day" came and I bought into Goby, hook, line, sinker. They were just good for each other-Abby spoke more and Gopher didn't drink as much. The payoff in "Moving Out" made me cry. Thank you, Dorm Life gods, for giving Goby fans a happy ending by killing Mister Glueboots!!!

Worst Relationship:

The loser is:

A tie between Danny B. and Mystery Hot Girl and Danny B. and Lacey

Let's face it, Danny B. is just unlucky in love. His first crush turned out be boring and self-centered. His first girlfriend turned out to be a complete psycho who caused him to miss his final. There are still fans that want Danny B. and Court to get together (myself included) and there are a few fans that want Danny B. and Yassi to get together from their interactions at Dormal. They were be better than either of his past love interests.

First Runner-Up:

Mike and Emily

Okay, so maybe we only saw Emily three times. But those three times were unbearable. Their relationship was basically a very immature high school relationship that couldn't survive college even if they had tried harder. Thankfully Mike ended it at Thanksgiving but unfortunately, they hooked up again. Mike spiraled into a depression and Emily got crazy and applied for the same college as Mike. Oh dear.

That's it for Round 1 of the Dormies. Coming soon, Round 2 with more categories like Best Prank, Best Quote, Most Awkward Moment, Most Shocking Moment, and more!!!
