So, I decided to write about my favorite songs. Only five, any more, I will be on my computer for days.
1. My number one favorite song has to be "Yellow" by Coldplay. I can listen to the song and still be the same way I did the first time I listened to it. Chris Martin's voice to his love and everything he would do for his girl makes me almost cry everytime.
2. "Maps" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. A recent discovery for me. I remember hearing about their performance at the MTV Movie Awards. I only heard this song last spring when they were the musical guest on SNL with Zac Efron. I immediately went to Youtube and listened to it ad nauseum. Karen O's passioned beg for her lover to stay (the unconfirmed rumor is that MAPS means My Angus, Please Stay) is haunting and sticks with you long after the song is done.
3. "Reptilia" by the Strokes. Yet another recent discovery for me. Last fall, Missouri State had a Rock Band night and one of my friends was playing this song. I was struck by the odd name and the awesome lyrics. Once again, YouTube to the rescue and I also listened to this song ad nauseum. Best part is the guitar lead-into the chorus but it's all awesome
4. "One Headlight" by the Wallflowers. This song is so awesomelly sad. No more words, just a link to the song.
5. "When You Were Young" by the Killers. I love the Killers. They are my favorite band. This is my favorite song by them. Enough said.
