Still "Lost"....and Loving Every Minute of It

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED LOST AT ALL...I AM NOT SPOILING ANYTHING THAT YET TO HAPPEN BUT I JUST FIGURED THAT I NEEDED WARN THOSE READERS WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED LOST AT ALL.... I NEED TO START TYPING THIS BLOG BEFORE I TURN AWAY PEOPLE..HERE WE GO!

For most "Lost" fans, they can tell you when they first starting watching Lost. I was a little slow on the uptake and only started on Season 2 with the great episode "Man Of Science, Man Of Faith" with my aunt who was in from Texas at my grandma's house because she insisted that we had to watch it. Luckily for me, I listened. Although I was completely confused the whole time, I was intrigued. Now, for a little bit of backstory, I was the "smart person" in my grade. You know, the one who is found to make pop culture references that no one gets? The one who went through a Star Wars phase in between the 3rd and 4th grade and even went as Queen Amidala that year for Halloween? Yeap, that was me. So, for me, that was like tv crack. Smart, slightly funny, slightly sci-fi. It screamed to me, "Love me." and I did. I watched on-and-off- for the first couple of episodes and caught some critical moments like Ana-Lucia shooting Shannon and Kate blowing up her dad (which coincidentally was the episode that aired on my 16th birthday). But then, as it does, real life kicked in which for a high schooler was basketball games and meetings, and History Bowls. But, I was there with a bowl of ice cream ready to actually give Season 3 a try...and I was hooked. I immediately loved to hate Ben (mainly because I rememebered him from the practice when he try to kill Lara Flynn Boyle and Camryn Manheim but was ultimately shot by a naked Lara Flynn Boyle. One of the few things I remember from that show.) Anyway, I loved Season 3. I remember taking off my fake nails from Prom while watching Ben shoot Locke into the pit of the Dharma fallen. (Anytime I smell nailpolish remover, I get reminded of that moment). I cried when Charlie sacrificed himself for Claire (Not Penny's Boat still brings chills to my bones). I was blown away when it was revealed that Jack and Kate got off the island...but Jack wanted back. Season 4 came-a bit short, but I was still hooked. I cried when Desmond called Penny in "The Constant" (which is my favorite episode of "Lost". You have watch that one episode...but then you're hooked. My apologies). I was sick with a fever and no voice when I found out that Sun was a part of the Oceanic Six...but not Jin. At that end of that season, I became an official Lost addict and also a high school graduate. Watching "Lost" should have been became a required class because I was lucky if I got to watch. Of the fifth season, I have only watched two episodes and both because I was on break at home. But, I caught up thanks to the wonderful Doc Jensen and Dan Snierson on ew.com and their video series "Totally Lost". They made me feel good to be a nerd and Lost addict. When the sixth and final season came, I knew that this would be my last chance. My last chance to see Sawyer shirtless. My last chance to hear Hurley say "Dude". My last chance to have every episode blow my mind with twists and revelations that I didn't see coming. Unfortunately, real life happened and I have only seen half of the episodes for the season. Luckily, I kept it with "Totally Lost" and also "The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack" which are both awesome. But, that will change. Starting today and going on until Sunday, I will be participating in the Lost marathon that I am sure every Lost fan will be going through. I am currently on my 51st episode of Lost-"Solitary", Sayid-centric and it will be working until Sunday to have watched every episode. It is a little bit of a task but it be worth it. So, if you have anything urgent for me, it will have to wait until next Sunday. Because I will be glued to Netflix, ABC.com, and my dvds to finish all the episodes of Lost by Sunday! See you then.
